D-DAY

By this time tomorrow, I hope the results are such that I can buy one of these t-shirts and hats for this year.

It's safe to say that this game is one of, if not the most important game in Seattle sports history.

We've waited for a long time to see the Hawks get this far. And I think they can do it.

Yeah, you need great players and superstars and role players to get you to the top. But you also need the breaks to get ahead. In year's past, that hasn't happened.

I can go back over the past few years and recount the mistakes, the missed opportunities, the breakdowns and the just plain stupidity that has ruined many a season, but I'd like to be able to sleep sometime.

This year... this year has been different, however. From the Rams game on the road (the muffed punt) to the Dallas game (Babineaux's INT) to the Giants game (three missed FGs), we've pulled victory from the jaws of defeat every time.

After every game, there's always that mention of "They wouldn't have won that in years past." And they wouldn't. They didn't have the people or the talent or the ability to get it done.

But this year has been different. Call it fate, call it kismet, call it God just likes the 'Hawks that much more, call it whatever you want.

All I know is, in about 14 hours, we'll find out whether this is our year, or we'll be sent back to the depths.

And I have a feeling it won't end.

Go Hawks!
