HAPPY NEW YEAR

I hope your holiday season was a great one.

2005 is in the books, and thank God for that. It wasn't that there were bad times, it's that I didn't do much to have a time, good or bad.

Yes, I finally got a real job (albeit I have to be in two places) and benefits and all that, but it feels like I didn't accomplish much. Hence the reason for my lack of posting: I wasn't really doing anything.

One of the few positives is that I got my career up and running. If I can take solace in anything, it's that I work with great people and I cover some excellent high school teams.

And that's the best part about the new year: One can always change.

So, without further ado:

Best song I downloaded this year: Probably Fat Joe's "Safe 2 Say." I played the hell out of that joint this year.

My favorite new toy: My new cell phone!

Camera phone ready, plus I got PCS Vision, so I can check scores - on my phone! Truly, we live in a wonderful age.

Favorite word or phrase of 2005: "George Bush doesn't care about black people."

Fill in the blank: George Bush doesn't care about ______.: Not a goddamn person on this planet. I doubt he even cares about his family.

Band you'd most like to see replace their singer on national TV: Not TLC or INXS, that's for sure. Other than that, I can't think of anyone, really,

Tom Cruise: brainwashed, bullying cult freak or all-seeing, all-knowing seventh-level Thetan?: FREAK. Hopefully more shows like "South Park" can poke fun at his stupid ass.

Saddest celebrity breakup: Nick and Jessica. Oh, the drama behind this one would sadden the brightest soul.

Man crush of the year: Tie between this man-

and this man-

Best sex I've had all year: Sadly, I must pass on this one.

Obsession of the year: Obviously this woman-

I was also obsessed with downloading that rare live whitelabel bootleg from the zillions of MP3 blogs out there.

Biggest disappointment of the year: Oh man, where to start? How about: the lack of response from FEMA to Katrina, the "cancellation" of Chappelle's Show, the inability of America to demand Bush and the rest of the government to make a timetable to remove the troops from Iraq, the erosion of the WWE, the withdrawl of Mariners management in committing to a winner and on and on...

Trend I'm most sick of: Celeb couples, period. I don't care WHAT Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt do. Not one damn bit.

Rock star moment of the year: Probably getting recognized by people that I write for the paper. It's not big, but it's something.

Biggest time-suck: The Net supplants my X-Box. Although when I get a 360 I assume that will take over everything and anything.

Favorite sign of the apocalypse: This story and how popular it was around here.

Most expensive purchase: Probably the phone.

Ambition for 2006:
Blog more, surf less, lose some weight (my 10 year reunion is in August) be more social and for God's sake, get some ass.

Have a great 2006!
